1. We believe in one true and living God; and that there are three persons in the Godhead, via., the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. -Gen 1:1; 1 John 5:7 2. We believe in the fall of man and his inability to recover himself. -Gen 3:3; 23-24; John 6:44 3. We believe Jesus Christ to be the Eternal Son of God. - Matthew 3:16-17; Luke 1:35. 4. We believe in particular election, effectual calling of the elect and final preservation of the saints -Rom. 9:10-21; Eph. 1:3-6; Rom. 8:28-29. 5. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired word of God. We take the New Testimant as the rule of our faith and practice - Authority, 1611 King James Translation; -2Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21. 6. We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are Ordinances of Jesus Christ and the washing of the saint's feet as example; that no man has the right to administer the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper but such as are regularly called and come under the imposition of hands by a presbytery. -Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Matthew 26:26-27; 1 Cor. 11:23-26; John 13:4-17. 7. We believe that immersion is the Scriptural mode of Baptism. -Mark 1:9-10; Matthew 3:16-17; Acts 8:35-39. 8. We believe that in the resurection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; a general judgement; and that the happiness of the righteous and the suffering of the wicked will be consciously eternal. -Matthew 25:31-46; Rev. 20:10-15. |
